Mr Trusler wanted to switch the heating in his detached bungalow from oil to air source and it was important for him to find one company that could install the heating system combined with solar pv, battery and EV charger at the same time to minimise the disruption. Installed over seven years ago, Mick still uses South West Heat Pumps to carry out his annual service.
We installed an 11.2kW air source heat pump and upgraded 10 radiators. We disconnected the current oil boiler, and the tank was removed by a specialist waste contractor. Their beautiful open plan living room, required a couple of vertical feature radiators which were sized specifically for the space and their bathrooms had dual fuel towel rails which meant the towel rails are always warm even when the heating is not on in the rest of the property. Their South, South East facing roof meant we could design a 24 panel array combined with a 7.32kWp SolarEdge inverter. We applied to National Grid before issuing the contract to ensure the system would be approved for connection and export tariffs before committing to the work. The system estimated to save over £600 annually in electrical costs at the time. We installed a 10kW battery and a car charger to complete the installation of multiple and complimentary technologies.
