Water Source Heat Pumps | South West Heat Pumps

Water source heat pumps.

Heat your home with a water source heat pump.

As a homeowner or industry professional, investing in renewable technology could reduce utility bills for you or your client. If your property is near to a static or flowing water supply like a stream or river, then a water source heat pump could help you harness its energy to provide heat and hot water.

How water source heat pumps work.

Open loop ground source systems take water from aquifers or open bodies of water (ponds, rivers, etc). They extract the heat, send it back to your property, and release the cooled water back into the ground.

Advantages of water source heat pumps.

  • Efficient – very high energy efficiency – water kept at a constant 10-13 degrees celsius.
  • Minimal disruption – less installation disruption than ground source heat pumps and don’t require much space.
  • Greener – no gas supply or fossil fuels required.
  • Low maintenance – a lifespan of well over 20 years and very little maintenance.
  • Control – perfect heat source for underfloor heating systems and great for regulating the temperature of your home.
  • Compliance – meet building regulations and improve your SAP calculations.
